Michael Stapf reinforces the management team at International Campus
International Campus GmbH, a company specialising in temporary living concepts for students and professionals, has expanded its management team with the appointment of Michael Stapf. Michael joined IC in late 2020 and as Chief Investment Officer (CIO) is responsible for driving growth through investments, acquisitions and project development. While Germany, Austria and the Netherlands are core regions for International Campus, the Czech Republic and Poland are growing target markets.
“We want to pursue our expansion throughout Europe and are pleased to welcome Michael Stapf on board as an experienced real estate expert who will significantly shape our continued development”, states Rainer Nonnengässer, Chief Executive Officer at International Campus GmbH.
“I am delighted to bring my previous project development experience to the field of student housing and coliving. Together, we will expand the existing portfolio, reinforce the presence of our brands THE FIZZ and HVNS and establish the structures necessary for this. Our team has all the experience required for the acquisition of existing buildings in operation, the conversion of properties — like office buildings — and for the construction of completely new buildings”, says Michael Stapf.
Aged 50 and with degrees in engineering (Diplom-Ingenieur), business administration (Diplom-Kaufmann) and economics (Diplom-Volkswirt), he joins International Campus GmbH from the project development company Groß & Partner, where he worked for over 18 years, most recently as a member of the management team. During this period, he oversaw different district developments and numerous project developments for hotels, offices and residential purposes. He also headed up the letting department for many years and was responsible for the letting and development of single-tenant buildings. Prior to this, he gained several years of experience as a construction and project manager at Bilfinger & Berger and at Hochtief.
With its brand THE FIZZ, International Campus currently provides coliving apartments for students throughout Europe. In 2021, the first residence under the brand HVNS (derived from “havens”) will be opening its doors in Hamburg, offering centrally located microapartments that measure up to 60 m² or more for professionals.
