Michael Stapf reinforces the management team at International Campus

Inter­na­tional Campus GmbH, a company specia­li­sing in tempo­rary living concepts for students and profes­sio­nals, has expanded its manage­ment team with the appoint­ment of Michael Stapf. Michael joined IC in late 2020 and as Chief Invest­ment Officer (CIO) is respon­sible for driving growth through invest­ments, acqui­si­tions and project develo­p­ment. While Germany, Austria and the Nether­lands are core regions for Inter­na­tional Campus, the Czech Republic and Poland are growing target markets.

“I am delighted to bring my previous project develo­p­ment experi­ence to the field of student housing and coliving. Together, we will expand the existing portfolio, reinforce the presence of our brands THE FIZZ and HVNS and estab­lish the struc­tures neces­sary for this. Our team has all the experi­ence required for the acqui­si­tion of existing buildings in opera­tion, the conver­sion of proper­ties — like office buildings — and for the construc­tion of comple­tely new buildings”, says Michael Stapf.

Aged 50 and with degrees in enginee­ring (Diplom-Ingenieur), business adminis­tra­tion (Diplom-Kaufmann) and econo­mics (Diplom-Volks­wirt), he joins Inter­na­tional Campus GmbH from the project develo­p­ment company Groß & Partner, where he worked for over 18 years, most recently as a member of the manage­ment team. During this period, he oversaw diffe­rent district develo­p­ments and numerous project develo­p­ments for hotels, offices and residen­tial purposes. He also headed up the letting depart­ment for many years and was respon­sible for the letting and develo­p­ment of single-tenant buildings. Prior to this, he gained several years of experi­ence as a construc­tion and project manager at Bilfinger & Berger and at Hochtief.

With its brand THE FIZZ, Inter­na­tional Campus currently provides coliving apart­ments for students throug­hout Europe. In 2021, the first residence under the brand HVNS (derived from “havens”) will be opening its doors in Hamburg, offering centrally located micro­a­part­ments that measure up to 60 m² or more for profes­sio­nals.
