Berlin, 13 October 2026. Housing shortages in Germany’s major cities are increasingly becoming a challenge for employers in these locations: Recruiting new employees often means helping them find accommodation as well. Demand is evident at International Campus: Since September 2025, companies have secured 400 HAVENS LIVING apartments in Frankfurt, Berlin and Hamburg for their employees. The International Campus Group (IC) is now stepping up efforts to expand these partnerships.

Moreover, people moving to Germany from abroad for a new job often struggle to settle in: In InterNations’ latest “Expat Insider 2026” survey, Germany ranks just 30th out of 31 countries.

Companies can rent individual HAVENS LIVING apartments or larger blocks of units and provide them as temporary accommodation for new colleagues. The model is particularly popular among employees relocating for work or moving temporarily to another city for a project who need readily available, move-in-ready accommodation.

“Employers increasingly recognise that housing is becoming a factor in the competition for skilled professionals. With HAVENS LIVING, we offer them a straightforward solution. But people moving to another country for work need more than a furnished apartment. That is why we see ourselves as hosts: Our on-site team helps residents take their first steps, and our events help them connect with others quickly. We offer more than a hotel,” says Gawain Smart, CEO of the International Campus Group.

To meet demand, International Campus has strengthened its B2B team: Since June 2026, Nora Gehlen has been responsible for managing corporate client relationships and further expanding the allocation of HAVENS LIVING apartments to companies. Gehlen brings many years of experience in the serviced apartment sector, including roles at Adina Apartment Hotels, H‑Hotels and Deutsche Hospitality. She understands both corporate clients’ expectations and the operational requirements for providing high-quality accommodation at short notice. “My experience in hospitality has taught me how much a warm welcome matters. At HAVENS LIVING, we carry that feeling through the entire stay,” says Gehlen.

Since its launch, HAVENS LIVING has catered to working professionals, international skilled workers and expats moving to a new city for an extended period. Alongside the privacy of fully equipped apartments with their own kitchen and bathroom in central locations, the concept places a strong emphasis on community. An on-site host team is available to help with all enquiries and issues the landlord’s confirmation required to register a home address—the first administrative step in Germany. Regular events, outings and tours, as well as partnerships with local businesses, help residents make connections. Shared spaces such as the co-working lounge, kitchen and bar, gym, rooftop terrace and courtyard provide places to meet and socialise.

By expanding its corporate partnerships, International Campus is further developing HAVENS LIVING as a B2B offering. Each enquiry is handled individually, whether for a single apartment or a larger block of units: International Campus tailors the offer to each company’s requirements, including budget, timeframe and the number of apartments needed. The offering is primarily intended to help employers in cities with tight housing markets provide accommodation for new employees from their first day at work. For employers, the benefits are twofold: Employees who quickly build social connections also settle into their jobs faster and are more likely to stay with the company.
