In Utrecht, Nether\u00adlands, Inter\u00adna\u00adtional Campus (IC) \u2013 a leading developer and operator of micro living concepts in central Europe \u2013 has opened the new THE FIZZ Utrecht eight months earlier than origi\u00adnally planned. The first appro\u00adxi\u00adm\u00adately 400 residents have already moved in. The iconic, 15-storey apart\u00adment building is the highest building in the Overvecht neigh\u00adbour\u00adhood and winner of the \u201cColiving Award\u201d in the Building & Archi\u00adtec\u00adture category. It features over 639 fully-equipped single and double apart\u00adments, almost 1,000 bicycle stands and about 1,000 square metres of communal space, inclu\u00adding roof terraces, fitness areas and a library. Apart\u00adment rents start at EUR 418 a month.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough we are still not 100% finished, we have opened THE FIZZ so that lots of students can have a roof over their heads as quickly as possible and start studying. Especi\u00adally for students, the situa\u00adtion is so critical that some of them even have to camp. THE FIZZ provides urgently required housing for young people and helps relieve the pressure on the strained housing market.\u201d <\/p>\n

About 800 square metres on the ground floor will be let to a coffee brewers\/brewery that will be open to visitors and local residents. Talks are currently under way with numerous interested parties for the second commer\u00adcial premise, which is about 200 square metres. THE FIZZ Utrecht is located in the Overvecht neigh\u00adbour\u00adhood, just 10 minutes away from Utrecht Univer\u00adsity.<\/p>\n

Figures from CBS Nether\u00adlands put Utrecht\u2019s popula\u00adtion in 2020 at around 358,700, up on 275,000 in 2005. About 412,000 people are expected to be living in Utrecht in 2030. The Utrecht agglo\u00adme\u00adra\u00adtion is home to 660,000 people. The Utrecht central railway station is the most important trans\u00adport hub in the Nether\u00adlands. Schiphol airport is only 40 kilome\u00adtres away.<\/p>\n
