The Dutch Minister for Housing, Stef Blok, was present at today\u2019s signing of the<br>\ncoope\u00adra\u00adtion agree\u00adment by Jan Benschop, CEO of Stichting DUWO, and Rolf Engel, Chairman of the<br>\nSuper\u00advi\u00adsory Board of Inter\u00adna\u00adtional Campus AG, at the Holland Property Plaza Sympo\u00adsium in<br>\nAmsterdam.<\/p>\n<p>Under the coope\u00adra\u00adtion agree\u00adment, Inter\u00adna\u00adtional Campus will act as investor and co-developer of<br>\nthe student apart\u00adments, while DUWO will be in charge for their subse\u00adquent opera\u00adtional<br>\nmanage\u00adment. Wouter van den Eijnden is the Managing Partner of IC Nether\u00adlands B.V., a<br>\nsubsi\u00addiary of Inter\u00adna\u00adtional Campus AG, that will finance the initial portfolio of five proper\u00adties<br>\nconsis\u00adting of 2,250 apart\u00adments to be developed in coope\u00adra\u00adtion with DUWO. The two compa\u00adnies<br>\nalso plan to coope\u00adrate in the area of studios for young profes\u00adsio\u00adnals and postgra\u00adduates.\n<\/p>\n<p>Jan Benschop, CEO of Stichting DUWO: \u201cDUWO\u2019s aim is to create good and affordable housing for<br>\nstudents. If we don\u2019t act now, there will be a shortage of 28,000 student apart\u00adments in the<br>\nNether\u00adlands by 2020. That is why we are happy about the coope\u00adra\u00adtion with Inter\u00adna\u00adtional Campus.<br>\nIt allows us to build new living space for students and continue to develop our housing concepts.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>Wouter van den Eijnden, Managing Partner of IC Nether\u00adlands: \u201cThis coope\u00adra\u00adtion with the leading<br>\nprovider of student living spaces in the Nether\u00adlands is very advan\u00adta\u00adgeous for both parties. DUWO<br>\nis creating urgently needed living space for students, while we will concen\u00adtrate on finan\u00adcing and<br>\ndevelo\u00adping innova\u00adtive apart\u00adment buildings for students and studios for young profes\u00adsio\u00adnals.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>Horst Lieder, CEO of Inter\u00adna\u00adtional Campus AG, explained: \u201cThe Nether\u00adlands is a very attrac\u00adtive<br>\nmarket. The demand for small living spaces will remain high in the long term in a large number of<br>\ncities.\u201d Lieder added: \u201cWith this coope\u00adra\u00adtion, Inter\u00adna\u00adtional Campus will embark on its first<br>\ninter\u00adna\u00adtional activity as an investor and developer. This joint venture is an important milestone in<br>\nthe process of focusing the atten\u00adtion of insti\u00adtu\u00adtional inves\u00adtors on the asset class of student<br>\naccom\u00admo\u00adda\u00adtion.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>The Nether\u00adlands has more than 660,000 students at 13 state univer\u00adsi\u00adties and 38 technical<br>\nuniver\u00adsi\u00adties (as at the end of 2012).
