The tremen\u00addous shortage of supply in Germany can only be remedied if the Studen\u00adten\u00adwerk and the private sector work together. We are interested in plots and existing buildings in class A and B cities, in order to create more living space for the 2.9 million students across Germany\u201d, states Rainer Nonnen\u00adg\u00e4sser, Chief Execu\u00adtive Officer at IC. The manage\u00adment team thus has its sights set on projects in major cities like Hamburg and Berlin, smaller cities with popular univer\u00adsi\u00adties are also considered for invest\u00adments. Nonetheless, occup\u00adancy rates remain high and one thing is also certain: the pandemic will pass. As control over the virus increases, face-to-face courses will also return. We are planning for the long term and firmly believe that the number of national and inter\u00adna\u00adtional students in Germany will continue to rise\u201d, says Nonnen\u00adg\u00e4sser. Accor\u00adding to Statista,the number of students increased by 63 percent in the last twenty years. <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The company currently develops and operates thirteen student residences under the brand THE FIZZ in Germany, Austria, the Nether\u00adlands and the Czech Republic. Plans for the future include residences for profes\u00adsio\u00adnals under the new brand name HVNS. The company\u2019s main share\u00adholder is the global alter\u00adna\u00adtive asset manager Brook\u00adfield.<\/p>\n<p>\u200d<\/p>\n<p>\u200d<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Living alone \u2013 staying safe and connected throughout the pandemic<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Isola\u00adtion and loneli\u00adness during the pandemic? Not at THE FIZZ. Here, the concept includes more than just private rooms with fully equipped kitchens and bathrooms. The centrally located residences are geared towards communal living and shared experi\u00adences. They are custom designed and adapted to the local condi\u00adtions. Various commu\u00adnity areas, such as large cooking and dining areas, study and music rooms, movie lounges, roof terraces and \u2014 in some cases \u2014 gardens provide ample space to socia\u00adlise. A house manage\u00adment team handles parcel deliveries and repairs, and a security company is entrusted with the protec\u00adtion of the building and its residents. <\/p>\n<p>Since the corona\u00advirus outbreak, hygiene and protec\u00adtion measures have been in place in all the buildings, meaning that the common areas are currently unavailable. Nonetheless: no one is alone at THE FIZZ. A range of online offers tempo\u00adr\u00ada\u00adrily replaces face-to-face meetings. \u201cWe are happy to say that our safety measures are effec\u00adtive and that the number of quaran\u00adtine cases has remained low so far\u201d, explains Rainer Nonnen\u00adg\u00e4sser.
