{"id":1629,"date":"2023-01-26T09:55:19","date_gmt":"2023-01-26T08:55:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ic-campus.com\/construction-start-of-337-student-appartments-in-ludwigshafen\/"},"modified":"2023-06-20T17:42:14","modified_gmt":"2023-06-20T15:42:14","slug":"construction-start-of-337-student-appartments-in-ludwigshafen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ic-campus.com\/en\/construction-start-of-337-student-appartments-in-ludwigshafen\/","title":{"rendered":"Construction start of 337 student appartments in Ludwigshafen"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>Civil enginee\u00adring works have already begun.<\/li>\n<li>The student residence with a day nursery on the ground floor is part of the conver\u00adsion of the former Halberg site into a mixed urban quarter. <\/li>\n<li>A modern, traffic-calmed area is being built in the Rhine area with flats, student flats, commer\u00adcial space and a day-nursery centre.<\/li>\n<li>The Univer\u00adsity of Mannheim, Ludwigs\u00adhafen Univer\u00adsity of Applied Sciences and several vocational schools are located in immediate proxi\u00admity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Inter\u00adna\u00adtional Campus (IC), a leading player in the European student housing market, has commenced construc\u00adtion of a student residence building of its THE FIZZ brand as part of the new Ludwigs-Quartier in Ludwigs\u00adhafen. In total, the Ludwigs-Quartier will comprise around 77,400 square metres of gross floor area. The student residence will be developed by Inter\u00adna\u00adtional Campus\u2019 develo\u00adp\u00adment team and will have 337 flats as well as about 135 car and 380 bicycle parking spaces. In addition, THE FIZZ will offer spacious communal areas such as a gaming area, study rooms, communal kitchens and a roof terrace with a view of the banks of the Rhine. The student residence building on the corner of Halberg\u00adstra\u00dfe and Rhein\u00adallee with around 14,000 square metres of gross floor area will be LEED certi\u00adfied (Gold). Opening is scheduled for summer semester 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u200d<\/p>\n<p id>\u201cThe construc\u00adtion work on the new THE FIZZ student residence in Ludwigs\u00adhafen has started with the civil enginee\u00adring as planned. Currently, we expect to open our house in the first quarter of 2025. Each additional flat will add needed supply to the tight local housing market,\u201d says Michael Stapf, Chief Invest\u00adment Officer of Inter\u00adna\u00adtional Campus. \u201cThe Ludwigs-Quartier also has a model character \u2013 it illus\u00adtrates what holisti\u00adcally conceived urban districts can look like today. They combine uses that are in demand, inter\u00adlink functions, enable short distances, and create quality of life and living. Student flats are a useful comple\u00admen\u00adtary element here, from which munici\u00adpa\u00adli\u00adties benefit to a parti\u00adcu\u00adlarly high degree,\u201d adds Michael Stump, Chief Opera\u00adting Officer of Inter\u00adna\u00adtional Campus. \u201cStudents streng\u00adthen future viabi\u00adlity, lower the age average, bring fresh\u00adness and a zest for action to the region \u2014 and are in high demand on the job market after gradua\u00adtion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u200d<\/p>\n<p id>The sustaina\u00adbi\u00adlity concept of THE FIZZ student residence includes exten\u00adsive roof greening to reduce the so-called heat island effect, thermal insula\u00adtion of the building made of mineral wool, the use of certi\u00adfied building materials, water-saving fittings to reduce water consump\u00adtion and drought-resistant planting in the outdoor area.<\/p>\n<p>\u200d<\/p>\n<p id>Located in the southern part of Ludwigs\u00adhafen between the Rhine and the city centre, THE FIZZ is optimally connected to the regional and suburban railway network by the nearby Ludwigs\u00adhafen-Mitte station. Ludwigs\u00adhafen city centre can be reached in just a few minutes. The Rhine prome\u00adnade and the city park are only a few minutes\u2019 walk away. The Univer\u00adsity of Mannheim can be reached quickly by tram, on foot or by bicycle via the nearby Konrad Adenauer Bridge.<\/p>\n<p>\u200d<\/p>\n<p id>Ludwigs\u00adhafen has around 170,000 inhabi\u00adtants and is the second largest city in Rhine\u00adland-Palati\u00adnate. Mannheim is the centre of the econo\u00admic\u00adally strong Rhine-Neckar metro\u00adpo\u00adlitan region and, with around 310,000 inhabi\u00adtants, the second largest city in Baden-W\u00fcrttem\u00adberg. More than 32,500 students are enrolled in both cities (as of October 2022). There are currently around 4,100 places in halls of residence run by public and private provi\u00adders.
