The terms of the transac\u00adtion remain confi\u00adden\u00adtial. Rolf Engel will continue to chair the super\u00advi\u00adsory board and the fund manage\u00adment. Horst Lieder, along with Rolf Engel founder of Inter\u00adna\u00adtional Campus, will remain as CEO to guide the expan\u00adsion of the company.<\/p>\n<p>Accor\u00adding to Horst Lieder, CEO of Inter\u00adna\u00adtional Campus AG, \u201cBrookfield\u2019s compre\u00adhen\u00adsive, long-term-oriented commit\u00adment shows the great deal of trust placed in the exper\u00adtise of Inter\u00adna\u00adtional Campus and the further growth poten\u00adtial for this segment in Europe. We will use the fresh capital to expand and scale our business model in Western and Central Europe, with an emphasis on Germany. Inter\u00adna\u00adtional Campus will continue to focus on its core products of apart\u00adments for students and young profes\u00adsio\u00adnals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Commen\u00adting on the strategy, Lieder says, \u201cWe are currently opera\u00adting, imple\u00admen\u00adting, or planning a total of about 11,800 apart\u00adments in 33 locations in four count\u00adries. Our objec\u00adtive is to penetrate the market further with around 20,000 units in the medium-term. The strategy is growing our existing business and to build up an on-balance sheet real estate portfolio of signi\u00adfi\u00adcant scale. At the same time, we will continue to manage our existing funds. \u201d<\/p>\n<p>Zach Vaughan, Managing Partner and European real estate head at Brook\u00adfield, says, \u201cThere is unmet demand for purpose-built student and young profes\u00adsional accom\u00admo\u00adda\u00adtion in Germany and Conti\u00adnental Europe.
